Off the Shelf Interviews Author Emerian Rich

Off the Shelf will be taping another podcast this Sunday at 1 p.m. The episode features Emerian Rich (Emz Mazie in Second Life). She writes horror fiction, teen romances, and host the Horror Addicts podcast. Simeon and Kghia met Emz shortly before she started organizing the first literary Horror Fest in-world, and they are looking forward to this interview. This interview should be as amusing as it is insightful.

Off the Shelf is always happy to have an audience during the show, so please join us. Emz will answer audience questions after the taping is over.

Bootleggers Ball Rescheduled for July 18

If all goes well on the grid, we’ve rescheduled the Bootleggers Ball for July 18. So, detangle your fringe and adjust the brims on your fedoras. Radio Riel will be providing music appropriate to the era.

Rescheduling Bootleggers Ball

Last night our sim was one of the many casualties of Second Life’s grid issues. Awen went down before the fashion show finished, and it was down at least 4 hours. As a result, we decided to reschedule the Bootleggers Ball for another date. We are going to check the calendar and let you know when you should get out your flapper dresses and zoot suits.

Bootleggers’ Ball and Related Activities

Invitation to Bootleggers' Ball

Invitation to Bootleggers' Ball

Gangsters on the street, gin in the bathtub, and jazz wafting through the clubs.  It was the Roaring ’20s, a time of literary and musical creativity, not to mention rampant criminality, poverty, and decadence.

Join Bookstacks and The Guild of UK Writers as we celebrate this era on Saturday, June 20.

  • Noon – Bookstacks Paper Chase (Literary themed treasure hunt)
  • 2:00 p.m. – Fashion Show featuring Vintage Clothing (organized by Focus Fashion Agency)
  • 4:00 p.m. – Fireworks
  • 5:00 p.m. – Bootleggers’ Ball (for the glamorous and the gun moll, the gangster and the sophisticate)
