5 Questions with Viv Trafalgar

The talented, lovely, and very busy Viv Trafalgar too a few minutes to answer five questions about her reading habits.Based on her answers, I have a couple of new books to add to my to-be-read stack.

What was the last book you read and who was it by?

I have just finished Embassytown by China Mieville, and Mechanique by Genevive Valentine.

What is a favorite book from childhood?

The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster

What book do you absolutely hate but were forced to read?

I’m sorry, I do not understand this question.

Are you a book collector, avid library patron, or do you use the revolving door at the used book store?

Yes, Yes, and Yes.  I love books, lend them (and hunt them down when they don’t come back), suggest them relentlessly, and order them in dark of night from used and online bookstores.  I have a fantasy bookshelf league, much as some people purportedly do with soccer or baseball.

What book would you recommend to others?

Certainly Mechanique, also Feed, by Mira Grant. Really, there are so many good books out these days, and so many lovely ones from all over, it’s hard to pick.  Zoo City by Lauren Bukes and Dervish House by Ian McDonald, Windup Girl by Paolo Bacigalupi, and The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by N.K. Jemisin all came out last year and they’re wonderful too.  What?  Time to stop? I was just getting sta….
