Hiatus over – Time to get busy

03 Jan

Our December hiatus is over at Bookstacks, and we are ready to hit the ground running.

Wednesday, January 6

3:00 pm – Women4Reading Discussion
Hedda Hazelnut will lead the Women4Reading Discussion Group every other Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. SLT. The first discussion will be held on January 6 in the Bookstacks Pub.

The group will discuss participation in the Women Unbound challenge and any other books that women in the group wish to discuss along with topics that are encompassed by these books. You can join the discussion offline at http://women4reading.wordpress.com. Everyone is welcome.

Noon – Book Trivia: Beginnings
The New Year has inspired this week’s book trivia topic. How well do you know a character’s origins or the first book of a series? Test your knowledge and if you win, you will walk away with 500 lindens. We also award 500 lindens to the person with the best costume in keeping with the theme, courtesy of Age & Country Hotel in SL.
Location: Bookstacks Pub

2:00 p.m. – Science Fiction Saturday
Jago Constantine leads a weekly discuss of science fiction in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere at the Bookstacks Pub. Got something to say about the book
you’re reading? Share your insights with us! You’re welcome to come and just listen too! We’ll happily discuss sci fi books, television and movies – but mostly books!

If you like Vegas, superheroes, comic books, or just a good read featuring good vs. evil, you will enjoy Vicki and her work.
Note: we are recording this show as a podcast before a live audience. You are welcome to attend and feel free to stay and ask questions of Vicki after the taping.
Location: Bookstacks Podcast Studio

3:00 p.m. – Poetry Libre Open Mic
