The SL Shakespeare Company Presents Twelfth Night

The SL Shakespeare Company takes a brief hiatus from Hamlet to pursue a full length performance of Twelfth Night—broken down into “bite-size” chunks in a series of full-costume staged readings.

The performances are from June 20 to July 20, an Act a week, every Fridays at 7 PM, Saturdays at 11 AM, and Sundays as 3 PM. For additional details, visit the web site at


SL Shakespeare Summer Events

Radio Riel, Riel Events and The Caledon Library are proud to present the first in a series of three SL Shakespeare Summer events: William Shakespeare’s comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Events will take place throughout the week.

Live Book Readings at the Explorers Community Center (starting a new book – The Long Walk by Slavomir Rawicz). Must have voice enabled to hear the reading.

Literary Salon at Ormsby Hall

Otenth Paderborn will be at home at Ormsby Hall for a literary salon the third Tuesday of each month, 5-6 PM SLT.

Listening Party for “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in its entirety (Caledon Library)

Radio Riel will air “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” over the Radio Riel airwaves. Join the fans at the listening parties, and make it a shared experience.

Fairy Tale Discussion Group…Sleeping Beauty (Fiction & Lattes)

I keep trying this tactic…but alas no one ever comes to wake me with a kiss!  This week Sleeping Beauty!  Have an alternate version?  Bring it along to share with the group!  This group is conducted in text chat…you are welcome to use voice, just be sure you are willing to type for those who can’t hear!

Hooked on Who Dunnits and Investigations?  Was it really Mr. Plum in the library with the candlestick?  Come meet up with a bunch of other mystery enthusiasts and add some titles to your reading list!  This group is conducted in voice chat so you will need to have the feature turned on in order to hear the discussion.  You don’t have to talk, but believe me you do not want to miss hearing the conversation!

A Midsummer Night’s Dream Ball

Music at the Ball will be primarily Classical, with some Early, Celtic, Folk and Shakespeare-themed music. We encourage guests to attend the Ball in costume, either in something inspired by the play or in Shakespearian attire.

You bring some of your favorite works of poetry and we’ll provide the pints. While you don’t need to read your selection in voice, you will want to be able to hear others reading.

Writers’ Retreat (UK Writers’ Guild)

A chance for writers of all genres to meet, share and discuss their work. Time can also be used to write or share freelance markets, ideas and tips for publication. This is all about helping one other and getting results. Guest readers on hand to read for you. Don’t come empty handed….share, share, share!
