Saturday

Noon – Bookstacks Paper Chase
I am a book
I am a Legal Thriller

I have taken the reigns to host the paperchase this weekend and Simeon is going to be a contestant.  Above are two of the clues and the remainder will be revealed when you find the pages this Saturday, 12 noon @ Bookstacks.  So come and see if you can outdo the owner of this group for the 500L Prize.  There is another 500L up for grabs for best Legal themed costume.

Bookstacks Weekend Events

Saturday

  • Noon – Book Trivia: In the Desert (@ Burning Life)
One of the notorious  Bookstack quizzes… Its theme is deserts, wastelands and the wilderness. Expect a bit more variety than  normal, and we might stray off theme occasionally to  give  new  faces a chance,  but you can still expect to have to google. Don’t forget to dress to fit the theme. Winner of the quiz receives $500L, as does the person voted best dressed in the theme.
  • 2:00 – Science Fiction Saturday (@ Bookstacks Pub)
Jago Constantine leads this discussion which answers the question, “what science fiction are your reading this week?”
  • 4:00 – NanoWriMo Prep w/Huckleberry Hax (@ Bookstacks Pub)
November 1 is creeping up fast, and to help you prep for NaNoWriMo, Huckleberry Hax will be offering a NaNo prep session this Saturday at 4pm at Bookstacks. Huck has successfully completed 3 novels during past NaNo events, so he has some solid advice for participants.

Sunday

  • 11:00 – Book Discussion: The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society (@ Burning Life)
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society is a charming, epistolary novel set immediately after the second world war. Or  is it? Join us and find  out  what others think of this popular work.
  • 3:00 – Poetry Libre Open Mic (@ Bookstacks Pub)
The weekly open mic poetry lead by Serene Bechir and Leonardo Zimring. Bring your favorite works.
